Doors officially opened to the $treakCoolers' SFTC Group on Saturday June 1st, 2013
'The Cooler' pick [yes, taken from the movie with William H. Macy]: Our $peCialty was suggesting ESPN SFTC props with a lower Streak% {49.4% or lower}; truly that's where this story begins...
While in another SFTC group during 2011 & 2012, I wondered if picking props with a lower Streak% would be similar to betting MoneyLine Underdogs. I began posting 'The Cooler' pick on the main boards and started winning props when others were losing on these big favorites. Then a cold streak hit and adjustments were necessary to include small favorites that the SFTC masses were overlooking. The main boards were brutal in those days & people were quick to disagree, but I knew if these picks were winners only 50% of the time it would be a valuable asset to your streak. Knowing when to skip props and when to fade the masses became all that I looked for. My methods didn't seem to be appreciated in the group I was in so I left from there and was ready to "retire" from the game. As a last ditch effort to maintain my interest, the decision was made to create a group where this was the main purpose...to find "Cooler" picks. Some people from previous groups I had been in over the years always kept an eye on these picks, so the invitation was posted with every cooler pick to come join the group. As you can see below, a total of 7 members were in the group at the end of the first month.
OriGinal home: streak.espn.com/en/group?groupID=219088
SFTC Group Charter Members: as of 07.01.13
Current Private Group ($C): streak.espn.com/en/group?groupID=233208
Public Group (Cool $treak) {2015-2017}: streak.espn.com/en/group?groupID=269410
After changes to the SFTC game, it became more difficult to recruit new members so we would open our "public" group occasionally for that purpose. Based on how active members were with posting picks, their all-time records, and interactions on the boards...several were promoted to our private group. "Quality over Quantity" was the strategy...and it paid off!
